PATHWAY PROJECTS
The following are four special projects which gave our
Firm a special expertise through pathway research and project implementation:
BOYER PARK TRAIL & PATHWAY PROJECT:
This project included approximately one-half mile of an 8-foot and 12-foot wide pathway
along the bank of the Snake River at Boyer Park for the Port of Whitman County. This trail
was a portion of the Park improvement project which included boat launching piers, marina
finger pier, parking lot expansion, restrooms addition, cruise boats pier, and pathway.
All these improvements were designed to be accessible to the handicapped. |

POMEROY PARK RESTROOMS/SHELTER & PATHWAY
PROJECT:
This project included handicapped accessible restrooms, shelter, and pathway, which was
intended to be part of Garfield County's & Pomeroy's 4-mile trail & pathway
project. |
FAIRVIEW STREET PATHWAY AND BICYCLE TRAIL:
This project was to provide an alternate mode of transportation from downtown Colfax to
the southwest corner of the City. Other improvements along this 2,800 feet of concrete
sidewalk, and asphalt concrete bicycle lane, included the installation of storm drainage
collection system and reconstructing this major arterial City Street. This project was
funded through the ISTEA Transportation Enhancement Federal Highway Administration
Program. In addition to the sidewalk and bicycle paths, this project included four rest
areas which included benches and waste receptacles, street lights, retaining walls,
handicapped ramps & handrails, and landscaping plants. This pathway was awarded the |

GARFIELD COUNTY'S ENHANCEMENT TRAIL PROJECT:
This project included the mapping of the four-mile route along Patah Creek. Only one mile
of the route was in the County, and the remaining three miles were within the City of
Pomeroy. Six alternate routes were proposed for this meandering trail. the selected safe
route which was situated across several privately-owned properties. After the County
Commissioner's reviews and negotiations with the property owners failed, the $800,00
project was suspended until the right-of-way or easements for the selected rout were
secured. |
COMPLETED ROAD & STREET PROJECTS
The following is a list of some similar projects which we
have completed recently:
THORN STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT (City
of Colfax):
This project consisted of improving a steep narrow 2,100 feet of a residential street. The
improvements included: reconstruction of the existing soft subgrade, placement of crushed
rock surfacing base, and placement of 3-inch depth asphalt concrete pavement, between new
curbs & gutters, sidewalks, handicapped ramps & handrails, and landscaping. The
project cost, which was funded through the Washington State Transportation Improvement
Board grant for a total cost of $340,000. |

STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT (City of Pomeroy):
This project was funded through the CHAP Program of the Transportation Improvement Board.
New crushed rock subgrade was placed along with new concrete rolled curbs, new
catch-basins, handicapped ramps, and new asphalt concrete pavement |
Terre View Drive arterial, and seven other
streets and cul-de-sacs; Parr & Brandon Streets, and Granite, Wullingford, Ravenna and
Clay Courts:
This subdivision project included utilities and new roads with crushed rock sub-grade,
concrete curb & gutter, handicapped ramps, and a complete storm drainage collection. |

Eastgate Boulevard and Loop Drive:
These roads provided the main entry to WSU Research
& Technology Park and included: all utilities, sidewalks, curbs, landscaping,
crushed rock base, and asphalt concrete paved roads. This 2-phase projects were funded
through WSU & SBA grant program. |
Hopkins Court. Nelson Court. and Hickman
Court:
These three areas make-up the Port of Whitman County Industrial Park. in Pullman. This
project included all the utilities and asphalt concrete pavement with concrete curbs. |
